Advanced Loan Documentation, Loan Structuring and Collateral Issues

When:  Jan 14, 2019 from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM (CT)
Associated with  Wisconsin

This is a follow up to the popular course RMA Wisconsin Chapter presents
on the topics of documentation, structuring and collateral.

Those who participate in the lending process in the bank need a broad understanding of documentation, collateral, and loan structuring.  Unfortunately, the critical elements of these areas are not always formally taught or explained.  Too many people in the credit process learn them by trial and error.

This is not a “fill in the blanks” course.  It is based on “What, Why, and When”, and how to select documentation, secure collateral and structure loans to achieve your credit risk management goals.  Besides presentation and discussion of these related topics, numerous actual examples will be provided.

The Advanced Course will:

  • address specialized areas of lending and associated documentation and structure
  • expand your knowledge of credit structure tools that will reduce your credit risk exposure
  • increase your ability to discuss and present various credit options to lenders and creditors
  • include mini-case studies

At the end of the course you will have a better understanding of the following topics and how they can assist you in credit risk management:

  • Brief summary of previous Documentation/Collateral/Structure course.
  • Cross defaults
  • Subordinations:  Position and Payment
  • Participations (documentary and credit enhancement)
  • Contractor monitoring
  • Letters of Credit
  • Land contracts
  • Municipal loans
  • Factoring
  • A/R funding programs
  • Hypothecations
  • Forbearance Agreements (detailed example)
  • Trust deeds
  • Loans to Native Americans / Tribal lands
  • Purchase Money Security Agreements (PMSI)
  • And More!
