Central Arkansas RMA host approx 50 attendees for this informative Luncheon Event at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. RMA HQ President & CEO William 'Bill' Githens from Philadelphia, PA visited Little Rock, beginning with him an informative program focusing on the current state of risk management in our industry. He focused a large portion of the program on RMA History, Purpose, Mission and Future. Cindee Munron, RMA Regional Manager, from Scottsdale, AZ attended the luncheon as well.

Comprensive overview of the Central Arkansas Commercial and Residential Real Estate Markets. Mr. Cosby presented Capitalization Rate and Value Trends and Determiners.  Northwest Arkansas was also included with spotlights on Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Jonesboro and Pine Bluff.  Approx 50 attended our 2nd Annual Breakfast Meeting.

Stephen Cosby, MAI, MRICS, is an Executive Vice President and Managing Director overseeing the North-west Arkansas and Little Rock offices of the South Central Region of CBRE. He has over 30 years of profes-sional experience in real estate appraisal and consulting. He has completed real estate appraisals, feasibility studies, rent analyses, litigation and market studies of commercial and residential properties in over a dozen states. Mr. Cosby holds the MAI designation and was one of the first appraisers in Arkansas to be certified as a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser.

2014 Golf Tournament

Retired Banker and former RMA HQ Board Member Micky Ribgy appeared live on stage with a collection of solo guitarists to an engaged, packed audience. Several RMA members attended including Bill Githens, Cndee Munro and David Marks. Rigby and his fellow musicians have played across Arkansas and beyond. Luncheon: Women in Banking - Panel Discussion @ the Clinton Center Grand Hall drew approx. 170 attendees making this the largest chapter meeting in our history.  This was an extra special chapter event where the Ladies of Banking took center stage during a moderated, lively discussion. We learned what special challenges, triumphs, pitfalls and successes await experienced and novice women in banking. We presented a mix of national and local panelists in order to give a board view from Central Arkansas and on larger, more wide spread level.

 

Professionally moderated by television's Talk Business & Politics Host Roby Brock.

Mr. Savage is an RMA HQ Recommended Speaker who has made informative and enlightening presentations across the country. Savage maintains corporate offices in Denver as well as Florida. He and his local RMA Chapter facilitate a successful Banking School accredited by the University of Central Florida. He remains very involved with the Risk Management Association. He highly recommends that bankers get and stay involved with RMA.

Savage took time from his busy schedule to visit Little Rock, bringing a powerful sales and service message to the chapter. Look in the 2Q2014 newsletter, when published, for some of his 'best practices' for success.

RICHARD FISHER - PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE, DALLAS

The chapter proudly welcomed Mr. Richard Fisher, Federal Reserve Dallas President and CEO, for an extra Special Breakfast Meeting on Friday, October 4 @ the Clinton Library Grand Hall beginning at 7am. This was an unprecedented opportunity to see Mr. Fisher live and in person in Little Rock. Known for his maverick, outspoken style, which is sometimes in opposition to the standard operating procedure, Mr. Fisher has appeared on many television programs including the popular CNBC ‘Squawk Box’ show and Bloomberg Television. This guest has been over two years in the making. 65 attended and enjoyed the opportunity to see an amazing guest speaker and eat a full gourmet breakfast buffet with something for everybody. Three media outlets covered the event including reporters for Reuters, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.

Event tickets were $75 each with 3/4 table arrangements

TEN LESSONS BANKERS NEVER LEARN
Luncheon Meeting - September 24, 2013

Mr. Courtney Dufries is a lifelong banker, experienced regulator, successful consultant and trained sconomist. His presentation touched on the social, political and financial events that created, and still influence, our banking industry.  Mr. Dufries presented signed copies of his book for a 50% discount to attendees and even donated a portion of the proceeds to the chapter.  Approx 62 attended this event and gave positive feedback regarding the speaker, facility and lunch buffet. 

Charity Donation


The Central Arkansas RMA Chapter would like to announce that because of the success of our recent Charity Golf Tournament on June 3, 2013, we were able to donate $2,500 to Junior Achievement of Arkansas.  Thank you to everyone who came out and participated and supported us in this endeavor.  We would like to also thank everyone who worked so hard leading up to the event, and on the day of, to make this a great success.
