About RMA

Founded in 1914, The Risk Management Association (RMA) is a not-for-profit, member-driven professional association, whose sole purpose is to advance the use of sound risk principles in the financial services industry. RMA promotes an enterprise approach to risk management that focuses on credit risk, market risk, and operational risk.

Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, RMA has approximately 1,900 institutional members that include banks of all sizes as well as nonbank financial institutions. They are represented in the association by 18,500 risk management professionals who are chapter members in financial centers throughout North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific.

          Scott Flack 

          President, Live 

          Scott Flack currently serves as President of Austin-based, Live Oak. In his role he oversees the firm's investment & development activities and is responsible for the firm's strategic direction. Scott has been in commercial real estate since 2000 when he joined The Gottesman Company. In 2007, he was part of the formation of Live Oak-Gottesman when the Gottesman Co. merged with Live Oak Group and the Leasing and Property Management Divisions of Trammell Crow Company. He served as the Company's Director of Leasing until acquiring controlling interest in the company with three other partners in 2015.  

          A graduate of the University of Texas, Flack has served as the president of the Real Estate Council of Austin, was a board member with the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and is an advisory member of The University of Texas Real Estate Finance & Investment Center. He has topped the Austin Business Journal's Heavy Hitters list multiple times for industrial leasing and remains active in brokerage as a member of the firm's industrial leasing team.  Throughout his career, he has served on several non-profit boards including the Austin Area Research Organization's (AARO) Social Equity committee and is a past board chair for Back on my Feet - Austin. Scott and his wife Kate are the proud parents of two daughters and a son.


          Sam Tenenbaum

          Economist, Co-Star

          Sam Tenenbaum is a Market Economist specializing in market research and economics for CoStar (NASDAQ: CSGP), the world's largest commercial real estate data and analytics company. Based in Austin, he leads research for Central Texas where he focuses on predictive analytics, risk assessment and multi-sector market research for institutional, family office and private investor clients. 

          Sam has been quoted in news publications such as the Washington Post and the Austin American-Statesman. He's often asked to speak at events by groups such as CCIM and the Texas Apartment Association, as well as regularly keeping CoStar's broker, investor, and lender clients up-to-date on the latest trends in the markets across Texas. He previously directed Latin America market research and risk assessment for GID Investment Advisors. He is a member of the Downtown Austin Alliance research group, and the Urban Land Institute's Multifamily Council. Sam graduated from McGill University in Montreal with a degree in International Development.


          Erin Morales 

          Senior Vice President, CBRE Tech Media Practice

          Erin Morales, Senior Vice President with the CBRE Tech Media Practice based in Austin, Texas utilizes her industry knowledge and expertise, coupled with the company's platform, technologies and global footprint to take companies to the next level in their real estate needs.

          Erin has garnered consistent industry recognition as one of the top tenant representation professionals in the Austin MSA. Due to her diligence, dedication to her craft, and commitment to her clients, she has successfully closed lease and sale transactions for tech clients surpassing more than 3 million square feet to date.

          Part of a successful and seasoned team and active in the real estate and tech community, Ms. Morales prides herself on excellent customer service, and offers a full-service approach to her clients. She's co-founder, and member of the leadership committee for CBRE's Tech Media Practice, has mentored at a local tech incubator, and is also active in Commercial Real Estate Women, otherwise known as CREW.

          Emily Chenevert

          CEO, Austin Board of Realtors

          As the Chief Executive Officer of ABoR and ACTRIS MLS, Emily serves as the sole employee to the Board of Directors. She ensures ABoR is fueling the success and improving the professionalism of the organization's 14,000+ members. She has a proven record and passion for advocating on behalf of REALTORS® and homeowners across Central Texas.Emily began working at ABoR in 2007 as a Government Affairs Coordinator and-after briefly working for Texas REALTORS®-she worked her way up the ranks from Director of Public and Government Affairs to Chief Operating Officer. In 2018, she was hired as the youngest and first female CEO by the ABoR and ACTRIS Board of Directors.

          Emily is a hands-on leader who is heavily invested in fostering personal relationships to build progress. She believes that the Association and the ACTRIS MLS are most effective when they leverage the power of the community, built through the membership and across the marketplace. Under her tenure of leadership at ABoR, she's led the implementation of two five-year ABoR's strategic plans while elevating the organization's profile and impact, regionalized ABoR's footprint and member services, and championed MLS listings data integrity standards.

          Serving as the current Chair of HousingWorks Austin and sitting on the board for Leadership Austin, Emily remains engaged in her community at large. She is a past winner of Austin Under 40 and serves on a variety of industry advisory positions, including the National Association of Realtors MLS Executives Advisory Board. In addition to her passion for housing and community engagement, Emily cares deeply about the National Kidney Foundation and Dell Children's Medical Center. Her youngest son received a kidney transplant just before he turned two and both organizations mean the world to her family.

          Emily is a proud mama to two young boys, Hudson and Barrett, and wife to Hunter, who she says, "makes their world go 'round." She spends her limited free time working off stress with "pop" rides on her Peloton, watching UT football with her boys, and snuggling her Cajun Frenchie, Roux.

          Central Texas Chapter Receives Gold Level Award

          We’re so proud to announce that the Central Texas Chapter has received the Gold Award, which is the second highest award a chapter can receive for its efforts in providing meaningful programming events for the local chapter. Programming events include educational events, general membership events, round tables, women in finance, and young professional events.

          The Central Texas Chapter, like all RMA chapters, is organized and run by volunteer members. We strongly encourage current or prospective members to become involved in shaping the future direction of the chapter by contacting any of the current officers or committee chairs. We would also be happy to discuss the many benefits that can be derived from membership in RMA.
