North Texas Chapter Receives Platinum Level Award for 2019-2020!

thumbnail image

We’re so proud to announce that the North Texas Chapter has received the Platinum Award, which is the highest award a chapter can receive for its efforts in providing meaningful programming events for the local chapter. Programming events include educational events, general membership events, round tables, women in finance, and young professional events.

The North Texas Chapter, like all RMA chapters, is organized and run by volunteer members. We strongly encourage current or prospective members to become involved in shaping the future direction of the chapter by contacting any of the current officers or committee chairs. We would also be happy to discuss the many benefits that can be derived from membership in RMA.

Also visit the Texas Regional Chapter website!

RMA HQ has advised all in-person local chapter events be postponed until further notice due to Covid-19.

Attitudes & Attire® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting personal growth for women seeking self-sufficiency. Our program provides the tools that raise self-esteem, promote ethics and build the confidence necessary to develop successful life skills. Our vision is to build confidence and change lives of the women we serve.
Founded by Lyn Berman in 1996, Attitudes & Attire® addresses areas not traditionally covered in workplace training including raising self-esteem and providing work-appropriate attire. We offer three programs:
Our Core Program (job readiness and self-esteem) consists of three workshops designed for women to recognize their self-worth, create a positive image and improve job-search skills. Upon completion of the workshops, each participant is invited to select workplace appropriate clothing from our beautiful boutique stocked primarily with donations from the community.
Hopeful Smiles™, founded in 2006, is a partnership with area dentists to restore the oral appearance of women whose teeth and gums have been damaged by poverty, substance abuse, neglect, etc.
Introduced in 2012, Boots to Heels℠ assists women in the military community with the transition from military to civilian life by focusing on job readiness.
Since the agency’s inception, more than 24,000 women have acquired tools to build the confidence they need to succeed.

From the young age of nine, Lyn Berman knew she wanted to change the world for women. In 1996, Lyn founded the nonprofit organization, Attitudes & Attire® to carry out her dream. With $500 of her own money, Lyn advised 65 women in the first year. Now, 22 years later, Attitudes & Attire® has served almost 22,000 women.
By helping women rediscover their value and self-worth, Lyn and her staff plant the seeds for personal growth, offering hope and a new direction toward self-sufficiency. Although backgrounds are diverse, the women who come to Attitudes & Attire® share a life of adversity (financially, emotionally or physically), but they leave with one common goal – to create a better life for themselves and their families by becoming self-sufficient. The same passion that helped Lyn found Attitudes & Attire® keeps it strong today.
