Description

Please join the RMA Rocky Mountain Chapter for an informative conversation with the regulatory leaders representing the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The discussion will be moderated by Jenifer Waller, President and CEO of Colorado Bankers Association. The panel will discuss issues affecting banks in today’s environment, lessons learned from the pandemic, emerging risks, and other topics.

This is an exclusively virtual event that will be streamed live via the Zoom platform for all registered participants. This webinar qualifies for 1.20 CRC Continuing Education Units.

Biographies:

Jenifer Waller, Colorado Bankers Association, President & CEO

Jenifer Waller was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and President in January 2022 after serving as President since 2020. Waller joined CBA in 1999 as the Senior Vice President responsible for state government relations and banking advocacy. In 2016, she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer accountable for the daily operations and management of the association. Prior to her days at CBA, Waller spent almost five years as a bank examiner for the Colorado Division of Banking. Waller gives back to the community through her participation in numerous civic and educational programs including trustee for Graduate School of Banking - Colorado and Madison, board member for Colorado Civil Justice League, Compliance Alliance, and Common Sense Institute. Waller enjoys politics and volunteering for campaigns. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her sons Joe and Travis and husband Doug.

Dixie R. Claybrook, Associate Deputy Comptroller, Western District, OCC

Dixie R. Claybrook has been the Associate Deputy Comptroller for the Western District of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) since September 2021. Before her current position, she was the Examiner-in-Charge of a large midsize institution from 2016 to 2021. She had been the Assistant Deputy Comptroller in the Salt Lake City field office and the Billings satellite field office since 2011.

Ms. Claybrook joined the OCC in 1999 as an Assistant National Bank Examiner in Lubbock, Texas, and was a Team Leader in the Denver field office from 2008 to 2011. As part of the OCC’s instructor cadre, she provides technical, communication, and leadership training to OCC staff and, since 2010, has been an evaluator in the examiner commission process. Ms. Claybrook has been active in the OCC’s employee group, The Women’s Network (TWN), serving on its executive leadership team from 2015 to 2018, including two terms as President in 2016 and 2017. She remains active in the TWN mentoring program.

Ms. Claybrook attended the University of Utah.

Jeff McDonald, Field Supervisor, Division of Risk Management Supervision, FDIC

Jeff McDonald has 29 years of regulatory banking experience with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He has been the field supervisor for Risk Management Supervision (RMS) in the Denver Field Territory, which encompasses both Colorado and New Mexico, since 2017. Previously, Jeff served for more than 12 years as the RMS field supervisor in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after completing stints as an examiner in Springfield, MO, and Denver, CO. Jeff holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and he graduated with honors from GSBC in 2003.

Max Gwin, Assistant Vice President, Supervision & Risk Mgmt, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

Max Gwin is assistant vice president of the Denver Examinations & Inspections Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He has responsibility for a team of bank examiners and managers focused on supervising community financial institutions in the western region of the 10th District. The team assessing the safety-and-soundness of state member banks and bank holding companies by conducting examinations on a periodic basis, monitoring quarterly financial reporting, and maintaining regular contact with bank management teams. Max started with the Bank in 2009 as an assistant bank examiner, received an examiner commission in 2013, and joined the management team in 2014. He was appointed to assistant vice president in 2019 and to his current role in 2020. Max received his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Northern Colorado and completed the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado.
