TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
The following are the rules and conditions of participation in RMA Member Forum, a service of The Risk Management Association ("RMA"). By subscribing to or participating in the RMA Member Forum, users hereby agree to be bound by and warrant their full compliance with the following terms of participation, which may be modified by RMA in its sole discretion at any time. Accordingly, you should periodically review these Terms of Participation.
RMA Member Forum is a service provided by RMA for the professional benefit of its members in furtherance of its nonprofit and tax-exempt purposes. This service may be used only by RMA members. RMA Member Forum may be used only for the purpose of discussing matters directly affecting or relating to the advancement of sound risk principles in the financial services industry. Although membership in the RMA Member Forum communities is based on RMA membership, the nature of Internet or e-mail traffic requires that these communications be treated as public and not confidential. These communications must accordingly reflect appropriate content and standards of professionalism. Messages posted to RMA Member Forum are the opinions of the individuals posting and should not be construed as official notices/polices of RMA or any of its member institutions unless otherwise expressly stated. Messages posted to RMA Member Forum shall not be forwarded or copied, in whole or in part, outside of the RMA Member Forum without the express, written consent of RMA.
You acknowledge and agree that RMA has no responsibility for the opinions and information posted on the RMA Member Forum by others. RMA disclaims any and all representations and warranties with respect to information posted on the RMA Member Forum, whether posted by RMA or third parties; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. In no event shall RMA be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages, or damages of any kind whatsoever, resulting from loss of use, data or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted on the RMA Member Forum.
All postings shall be of an informational nature and for informational purposes only. Commercial use or any other unauthorized use of the RMA Member Forum communities is prohibited. RMA members need to be mindful of constraints of antitrust or competition laws when engaging with each other at RMA-hosted activities. RMA’s conferences, Chapter events, training courses, round tables, forums, discussion groups, working groups, and any other group gathering (facilitated by technology or in person) are conducted for educational purposes, to provide a forum for the open discussion and free exchange of ideas among institutions that may otherwise compete in the marketplace. At any gathering, members are reminded that it is their responsibility to avoid (and where they see others acting in such a manner, to discourage) any agreement or inappropriate conversations that could have anti-competitive effects or could constitute a restraint on trade. In discussing the pros and cons of a topic, members may express an opinion, but must avoid collective agreements on how any particular issue/matter should be handled. Do not post any information regarding specific prices or fees charged or paid, and do not post any information concerning prices, pricing practices, discounts, or other terms or conditions of sale either obtained by or offered to another entity. Do not post any information concerning market shares, salaries, costs, net interest or other margins, or encouraging the selection or rejection of customers or vendors. For more information on appropriate and inappropriate competitive behavior at RMA meetings, please feel free to consult the RMA Antitrust Guidelines: https://www.rmahq.org/governance/bylaws.
You hereby agree that:
• You will conduct yourself in a courteous, civil and respectful manner.
• You will not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal information or material, and will not utilize the RMA Member Forum in any illegal, threatening or unethical manner or in any manner, in the opinion of RMA, that may damage the reputation or goodwill of RMA.
• You will not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the express written permission of the copyright owner.
• You will not use any words, logos, symbols or other marks that would infringe upon the trademark, service mark, certification mark, or other intellectual property rights of the owners of such marks without the express written permission of such owners.
• You will not post any confidential information or any information that would infringe upon the proprietary, privacy or personal rights of others.
• You will not post any information or other material that constitutes or could reasonably be construed as constituting advertising, marketing, or solicitation of business or otherwise engaging in or attempting to consummate commercial or professional transactions.
• By posting material, you represent and warrant that you: (a) own the copyright with respect to such material; or (b) have received permission from the copyright owner to post such material; and/or (c) that the material is in the public domain. In addition, you hereby grant RMA a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or material in any manner, without payment or other compensation.
RMA does not generally monitor the RMA Member Forum communities for inappropriate postings, and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting or unauthorized use of the communities is brought to RMA’s attention, including but not limited to, prohibited posting and usage as outlined herein, RMA will take all appropriate action, in its sole discretion. RMA reserves the right to terminate, without prior notice, the access of any user who does not abide by these Terms of Participation, and/or to take other disciplinary action against violators.
RMA Member Forum communities may have a moderator, selected by RMA. The moderator has the right in his or her sole discretion to edit or delete inappropriate postings on discussion groups.
Discussion Group Etiquette
Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location.
State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply. Delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting.
Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from.
Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals--not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link to the left of every message. “Reply to Sender” should not be used to send spam, offers to buy or sell, threats, profanity, or hate speech.
Do not send administrative messages, such as remove me from the list. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing e-mail addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new e-mail address. Simply change your settings.
Warn other list subscribers of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at the beginning of the message body with a line that says "Long Message."
By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to our Member Services department via the Contact Us link on this site. Technical questions on association management issues should directed to our helpdesk.
