Description

Please join us IN PERSON or ONLINE (Hybrid event) for a discussion and overview on current drivers and an outlook for Pacific Northwest Agriculture. We are pleased to have Economic and Industry Analysts, Damien Singh, Amber Roberts, and Kimberly Eagle, with AgWest Farm Credit.  They will lead a discussion covering trends in global and domestic agricultural markets, with a specific focus on agriculture in the Northwest.

Damien Singh grew up an avid tree climber in Florida and started his career at USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service in Washington DC. He earned a bachelor's degrees in Economics from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in International Natural Resources from N.C. State University. At USDA, Damien's passion for agriculture began when visiting farms and local communities in developing countries. After graduate school, he worked at Weyerhaeuser first as a Market Analyst, and then as a Forester to develop hands on experience. Currently, Damien works as a Market Research Analyst at AgWest Farm Credit covering forest products, apples, almonds, pistachios, lemons and oranges.

Amber Roberts is an agricultural economist with a lifelong connection to agriculture, growing up in central Montana and earning her American Farmer degree from FFA. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University and a master’s in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota, where she researched dairy profitability. Amber began her career as a Farm Business Extension Educator, focusing on farm transition planning and leading the Midwest’s largest Women in Agriculture Network. Now with AgWest Farm Credit, she provides actionable market insights on dairy, cattle, row crops, and small grains to producers across the western U.S. In her free time, she also serves on the Board of Directors for Annie’s Project, empowering women in agriculture through education.

Kimberly Eagle grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, with her ag exposure being limited to selling oranges and grapefruits from her backyard. Despite being removed from agriculture in her childhood, Kimberly has always had a passion for nutrition. After moving to Spokane to study economics at Gonzaga University, she accepted a business internship at a small agricultural company focused on growing alfalfa as feed for export. Upon graduation, Kimberly worked for several years as an Economist at the Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington. Here, her passion for tracking consumer markets and understanding global trends took off. During this time, she completed a Master’s in Community and Economic Development from Penn State University. The program had a heavy focus on rural areas, leading Kimberly to want to pursue this area. She began at AgWest Farm Credit in December of 2024, and as of this December took over the potatoes and wineries industries.

Damien, Amber, and Kimberly are part of the Learning Development team for AgWest Farm Credit (formerly Northwest Farm Credit Services). They are responsible for producing the Market Snapshots, Industry Perspectives and other tools to support and benefit AWFC employees and customer members.
