Description

Please join us IN PERSON or ONLINE (Hybrid event) for a discussion and overview on current drivers and an outlook for Pacific Northwest Agriculture. We are pleased to have Economic and Industry Analysts, Damien Singh and Amber Roberts, with AgWest Farm Credit. They will lead a discussion covering trends in global and domestic agricultural markets, with a specific focus on agriculture in the Northwest.

Damien Singh grew up an avid tree climber in Florida and started his career at USDA's Foreign Agriculture Service in Washington DC. He earned a bachelor's degrees in Economics and Spanish language from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in International Natural Resources from N.C. State University. At USDA, Damien's passion for agriculture began when visiting farms and local communities in developing countries. After graduate school, he worked at Weyerhaeuser first as a Market Analyst, and then as a Forester to develop hands on experience. Damien now works as a Market Research Analyst at AgWest Farm Credit covering forest products, tree fruit, wineries-vineyards, fisheries and nursery-greenhouse industries.

Amber Roberts grew up central Montana and was heavily involved in agriculture; raising meat rabbits and earning her American Farmer degree from the National FFA organization. She received a bachelor's degrees from Montana State University and a master's degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota. After graduating, Amber worked as an Agricultural Business Management Extension Educator for the University of Minnesota where her work focused on farm transition and women in agriculture. She now works for AgWest Farm Credit as an agricultural economist focusing on dairy, cattle, row crops, and small grains. Amber also serves on the Advisory Committee for Annie’s Project, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening women’s success on the modern farm enterprise.

Damien and Amber are part of the Learning Development team for AgWest Farm Credit (formerly Northwest Farm Credit Services). They are responsible for producing the Market Snapshots, Industry Perspectives and other tools to support and benefit AWFC employees and customer members.
