Please join us in congratulating Tabitha Lee in being awarded the RMA Kansas Chapter Scholarship of 2020 - 2021!
Tabitha Lee is a Wichita State University student, majoring in Finance and looking forward to graduating in December 2021. Ms. Lee graduated with honors in 2019 from Butler County Community College and was awarded the Order of the Gold as a result of maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She has continued her academic excellence at Wichita State, earning a 4.0 GPA and a prime spot on the Dean's List every semester. Ms. Lee is a first-generation college student and shared that she found her calling to finance after she had first majored in elementary education, psychology, and then social work. While working for the Sedgwick County Sherriff Office, Wichita Children's Home and attending community college, she realized that her innate talents were best suited to money management. The realization was through reflecting back to her experience of successfully owning and operating a small business, bakery/café in Georgia, which she sold for a profit prior to moving to Wichita. The experience gave her the confidence to dream outside the box of stereotypical careers for single, black women of becoming a financial adviser. Now employed at INTRUST Bank, as a 401K Support Associate, she is passionate about serving others and being a part of something bigger within a company or in the community. Tabitha Lee has a driving passion for helping people skillfully handle their finances and to empower people to discover how well they can do.
Upon learning the good news, Ms. Lee shared her gratitude of being awarded the RMA Kansas Chapter scholarship, “THANK YOU for giving me this opportunity to apply for this scholarship with RMA Kansas and in join your organization that allows me to have access to resources to further equip me in my financial career.”
