Securities Lending Tutorial 
If you are new to securities lending, this session will provide you with a basic conceptual understanding of securities lending functions and how to distinguish among the various forms of securities lending transactions. You will also gain an understanding of the regulatory and taxation issues affecting securities lending for lenders and their custodian bank lending agents and borrowers. In addition, you will learn how to identify the risks of securities lending and how to control them. This tutorial will also address common industry misconceptions about securities lending and emphasis will be given to the regional issues and marketplace.

The PASLA Operations and Technology Subcommittee and leading technology vendors will discuss the current challenges in the market and what technology firms are doing to remediate.  The discussion will revolve around two streams.  The first will be operational challenges and efficiencies, including entry requirements to emerging markets, regulatory developments in Asian markets and current and potential CCP models. The second area of focus will be concerning methods in which technology can assist in improving efficiency in the Asian markets.
