Email and Web Communications

.com Address

RMA has a .com email address for sending email to organizations (particularly foreign ones) that block all incoming mail from .orgs. Contact the marketing Web content administrator if you need a .com address.

Broadcast Email

Broadcast email is clearly a preferred way of communicating, but traditional mail should continue to be used for formal communications, such as invitations to round tables and thank-you letters to volunteers.  One very good use of email is the promotion of RMA courses by the Chapters Department. The Chapters Department sends email advisories of what’s coming up through chapter networks.

When sending email to a committee or large groups of people, always use the bcc: line instead of the to: line. This prevents anyone on the list from using the email addresses of our other recipients for their own marketing or other purposes.

Marketing-type Email

Any emails of a marketing nature should be sent out by Marketing or IT to ensure that the correct audiences are being targeted (e.g., opt in versus opt out) and that there is no duplication or over saturation of emails to specific groups or people.

Web Communication

Use the Web to communicate. We want customers to visit our site often and to have us on their Favorites lists. For example, regulatory updates and some community bank news are distributed by posting on the Web. Send an email alert to your audience directing them to the RMA Web site for the available information.
